How to help my aunt. Necrosis in multiple areas in her spine and suspect for liver, lungs and brain.

My aunt, now 64 yrs old, had breast cancer in 2019 and went through chemotherapy.

We thought things were getting better, but today, after a long misdiagnosed fibromyalgia, doctors found necrosis in multiple areas in her spine and suspect for liver, lungs and brain, more tests need to be run.
They also said her tailbone/coccyx has shifted and some vertebrae have collapsed because the cancer weakened the bones.

I am trying to understand what this really means and what to expect. The doctors are being careful with words and it’s hard to know how serious the situation is or how much pain she may be in.

If anyone has gone through something similar with a loved one:
how fast did things progress?
were they suffering a lot?
did palliative care help?

I know every case is different. I think I’m just trying to prepare myself and understand what may happen next and how to best support her in this dark moment.

Thank you.
