MORE GA FLOOR TIPS FROM SATURDAY 5/9
GA LINEUP TIPS
purple is the area we waiting in starting 430pm. We did "EAST FLOOR GA" then 545pm they let you in the parking lot aka "sphere campus" where you will still be outside til 6:45pm. At 645 they let you into the actual sphere to show tix and then you line up in a dark hallway for just a few min til they let you inside the actual floor/show area right at 700. when we were there saturday someone unofficial was marking everyone that arrived before 530 with a sharpie. then it was an honor system situation to get back in line and go inside the parking lot outdoor area. Again, the sharpie situation is unofficial so we stayed right near the front of the line just to be sure we would get our spot.
-We were 42nd in line at 4:30pm on Sat 5/9 and got third row right in front of the stage, even in front of some vip that arrived later
-There is NOWHERE closeby to go the the bathroom between getting in line and getting inside the actual sphere at 7pm. Its over a 20 min walk to a resort. Be prepared to hold it, plan accordingly Editing to someone else's comment below that there is a McDonald's 10 minutes away at the following address. I looked for McDonalds in the google app when there and did not find this one. But here it is. Just 10 min away McDonald's at 3717 Paradise Rd
-If you don't care about being right in front, you are good to arrive all the way up to 8pm. Plenty of space on floor
ONCE INSIDE
Once we were inside on the floor we made friends and took turns using restroom and holding the space for each other. This actually worked out. I was nervous about crowding and pushing but the crowd was very respectful. That said don't expect to let your friends cut all the way to your spot if they arrive later. My friends did this at 8:15pm and I just didn't answer their phone call... ooops.
-There's a cocktail waitress on the floor that will take your orders before 8pm and she gets all the way to the front of the floor. There isn't an actual bar on the floor but there is one just outside the floor area near the restrooms.
HYDRATION/LAS VEGAS TIPS
As an experienced long distance hiker, here is my hydration advice if you plan to arrive around4-5pm. Drink 2-3 liters of water day before with liquid iv type electrolyets. On day of the show, drink at min 1 full liter before 12pm. Don't drink too much while you're in line as you cannot access any restroom between your arrival and opening of sphere at 7pm.
-Right before the show I actually felt like I was going to throw up due to dehydration. Managed to be ok, but had leg cramps all night which is common for me when extremely dehdrated.
-Las vegas and venetian area is intentionally disorienting. Expect a LOONG walk after the show to exit into venetian. My friends had an over hour wait for a car at the VENETIAN rideshare area. I can't speak to the Sphere rideshare area. I walked to planet hollywood to eat and got a quick rideshare there.
