Family member attacking baby?

Hi friends! I always learn so much from this Reddit when I have questions about my observations:

Context: I feed a family of four in a plaza - the fourth one was born a few months ago and is a juvenile, who I call Mr. Baby. I believe the third crow is a helper older sibling crow. I have seen the juvenile eat via being fed by a parent as well as eating independently. There are occasionally other crows around but my group chases them away + I always know when I'm feeding the wrong group because they are much more hesitant and will not eat as long as I am around, whereas the group I feed is comfortable with being closer to me and my car, and eat nearly immediately.

I'll usually not see the entire group right when I arrive - this morning I was hanging out with Mr. Baby and another family member. The other family member was comfortable getting close to the car to grab snacks, and Mr. Baby was perched on a light post, chillin and not grabbing snacks yet. Eventually, Mr. Baby did fly down and grab a snack, and the other crow started yelling and flew fast af at him and looked like he made some contact. He landed in the same tree as Mr. Baby and continued to be loud and rude until Mr. Baby eventually made an escape.

What is this behavior? I am positive that they are family members and I'm wondering why a crow would go after a family member for eating.

Looking a little roughed up?

Hi friends,

I've attached two pics of a friend from the group of four I feed. I've noticed in the past couple of weeks that this one consistently looks, for lack of a better word, a bit haggard. He's acting normal socially around me and the crows, eating food given to him, etc but seems to just be missing feathers or having a lot of them out of place. It has just rained when I got this photo but his feathers still look crazy even when dry.

Is my friend okay?

BABY VS BUG

Hi all! It's been awhile since I have posted. :)

I have still been hanging with my crow crew at the Target plaza. They had been quiet up until the past month - thanks to y'all I learned that this was indeed because they were prepping for baby time, and that I would likely only see the baby(ies) once they looked pretty similar to parents.

My group of 3 has become a group of 4! Here is the baby eating a bug. :) The baby does look mostly grown except you can see his eyes are still light, the pink inside of his mouth has started to go away.

I had named the presumed helper crow "Toilet Truck" as an homage to I Think You Should Leave, so pls feel free to share name suggestions especially if they are related to ITYSL

Just my little bud singing his song and....clearing his throat? Swearing at me? Not quite sure but wanted to share! 😆
