Can't continue using UK Trading 212 account as an Irish tax resident - what do I do now?
So originally from the north, had invested in shares via Trading 212 UK. After moving down south, I kept just putting money in for a while and investing same as I did in the north.
I took a break and left it, haven't invested in a few years. Was about to start again.
But now T212 is asking me to update and confirm my details. Which is where I'm running into trouble. If I update everything to Ireland, it won't let me invest anymore. It says "As you're currently residing outside of the UK, you can no longer deposit funds to your ISA".
Apparently you can't open different T212 accounts for different locations.
I could always close everything out, but there are a good few that I was planning on holding that are really in the red. Overall the portfolio is in the green but there are a few that I wouldn't want to close on at this stage. Mainly investing in the S&P which is where I'd want to continue investing, but made a few riskier investments as well.
I still have proof of residence in the north at my family's address, however I'm paying taxes in the south.
What should I do? Is there a way I can keep this and still have it usable? Is there an alternative investing app I can use alongside this for the south?
