I made a rig out of trading, budgeting, and secondhand, while on Disability.
I’ll start by saying I just got into pc’s in the last year, and have been really enjoying myself with them, and doing stuff to build my own for gaming as I am on welfare/disability so I’m home regularly.
I upgraded from an old prebuilt, acer I think, that was i310100, 1tb nvme (which i kept for the new build!) and then a 1650 gtx with 12gb ram. not optimal. i sold it for $275 somehow because a mom wanted it for her son.
I’m actually not even sure the entire value of this piece now, because I only actually paid (secondhand) for the PSU and GPU. The pieces I got “prebuilt” they told me, was all brand new for $350CAD, which I was in range for! and it was at a local game shop in the box they hadn’t opened. But it had come with the stuff just in the case, not setup or connected. I thought it was weird but man was I pumped.
there was no gpu or psu inside, which is okay since I had an rtx 4060 at the time. A guy had a BNIB msi mag 650bn for sale and he delivered it to me for $60.
Everything comes together by the end, but I seen somebody looking for a Nvidia card instead of his MSI rx 6800 gaming x. I traded him for the card and was on my way to the gaming setup I have now.
Flashback to last week, my build is complete and I can say I did it all on a budget, while trading and going secondhand for everything, all works great so far.
What do you think it’s worth? 😊 All components used for 1 week, aside from the GPU and nvme!
