Hello People,

I just bought a bike. Van Rysel Microshift Ecolyte 8 gears. A gravel bike. I am no stranger to cycling, when I was a kid I cycled 1 hour to go to school with some friends.

I have been watching bike packing videos recently and that’s when I decided to buy a bicycle. This summer I’m planning to do a long voyage. 1.500 km long.

On a good day, I feel like sailing with it. But recently I feel like there is a great resistance on the bike. Checked the tires, ok. The road, mainly asphalt.

I weigh 95 kg. When I see bike videos, with all their stuff, they drive smoothly and the motion blur gives the impression that they cycle fast. Is it my weight or do people just cycle fast? My average speed on a 58 km rides is 45 km. On a 28 km, it’s 20 the last time I checked on Strava app.

One last thing, can you guys give me some of evaluations of my written English? I need to prepare it for the cross country track.

Thank you and I wish you all a very good week.

RF.
