Hello, I am trying to get my basement framed right now in Saskatoon (just the framing so far and maybe one or two other things), but speaking to a few contractors so far and I've got mixed thoughts on framing method, most said they just frame direct on slab, but one mentioned I should have a floating framing system where the bottom plate is floating a few inches.

I decided to check out some new builds on realtor and photos of their basements and looks like the basement framed studs are not floating.
