Unethical hiring practices at Shipsy
Over the past several months, I’ve noticed a concerning pattern in the hiring process for growth and value engineering role at Shipsy.
The company appears to have kept these roles “open” for an extended period without actually closing positions, while repeatedly moving candidates through multiple rounds and rejecting them for inconsistent or shifting reasons.
What makes this especially problematic is that candidates are reportedly being asked to create detailed submissions, pitch decks, and growth ideas as part of the process. These assignments are real business development or sales material that could potentially be used commercially.
There is a fine line between assessing candidates and extracting free consulting work under the guise of recruitment.
Shipsy is crossing that.
Sharing this so that other applicants can make informed decisions and so that companies reflect on ethical hiring practices.
