So i just finished my first stacked PETG print and i am trying to figure out what went wrong. i was able to get 2 usable panels from a stack of 6. the others just did not want to separate, to the point of them cracking apart. the test file came out fine, any suggestions? some of my corners came up a little bit during the print, but i didn't think much of it. did that result in the .2mm gap between being 0 and them fusing together?
so i've run the test print several times with SUNLU Matte PLA on my P2s and keep running into the same problem. hand have some stringing on the stacked piece. i tried tweaking the gap between them, but it seemed to make little difference. is this something i am doing wrong? or something that can be corrected? i work from home, but still can't always get up to collect the print and start a new one very quickly, so stacked printing would definitely be preferred if it is something that can be easily fixed
So let me start with an apology for the adhd brain turning this explanation to a nightmare. and apparently r/audioengineering's bot removed this post and suggested posting it here
I started learning bass, and since i am already at my computer for working from home or gaming most of the time it didn't make sense for me to buy an amp causing me to buy a Focusrite Scarlett Solo. from there i forget what led me to do it, but i picked up a Fosi Audiio TPA3116 mini power amplifier to use some old bose speakers as well.
That about leads up to the current plan of me moving my computer to a different room, putting a server rack under the desk that will house mine and my wife's computers and logically it made sense to me to rack mount the focus rite and the fosi audio amp. I plan to 3d print the mount for the rack, but it then raised the thought, since i have to design it i could put a bracket on there to hold my korg tuner. that led to the thought of if i could wire everything up behind the panel. that way the jacks i interact with are closest to me and i could potentially split the line to my bass to go to both the focusrite and the tuner so i don't need to plug and unplug anything.
that leads me to the reason for this post and my two questions. ignore the blank box at the top of the screenshot, it only exists so the lines didn't overlap each other. and the dimensions are only on there for my use for modeling the rack unit for all of this
- it is my understanding that just a Y splitter cable is going to destroy the signal. is there a relatively reasonably priced option to accomplish this? this is purely a hobby for me and this is never going anywhere professionally. if this is not reasonable i can just swap the cable between the focusrite and the tuner, but it would be ideal if i could keep both wired up, even if i had to flip a switch or something to switch between them.
- panel mounted 1/4" audio jacks. can anyone recommend anything? from what i could tell i am likely going to have to solder as panel mounted couplers appear to be few in number, expensive, bulky and heavy. if recommending jacks that require soldering what kind of wire should i be using?
