Olive tree regrowth after winter damage?

Hey everyone,

my olive tree didn’t handle the winter very well and also suffered from waterlogging due to my own mistake. It ended up losing all of its leaves.

About five weeks ago, I repotted it and pruned it back a bit. Now I’m wondering: are the small spots visible in the pictures new buds?

Raised bed on balcony + lease requires closed planters - any practicable solutions?

Hey everyone,

I’m hoping to get some advice or hear about your experiences.

I have a sort of raised garden bed that I’d like to place on my balcony. It’s basically a wooden frame about 55 cm high. In the upper half there are wooden supports where the three individual plant pots sit on. The pots have drainage holes at the bottom.

The issue:

The raised bed is open at the bottom, so any water draining out of the pots would drip straight down onto the balcony tiles.

My lease contract, however, explicitly says that plants must be in closed planters or placed on saucers, in order to protect the balcony tiles (even though they’re pretty robust stone tiles).

So now I’m wondering:

How would you solve this?

Any simple, clean, renter‑friendly ideas that would still comply with the lease?

Has anyone dealt with a similar setup before?

I appreciate your advice 🙂
