Financial advisor worthwhile?

Hi. I'm 6-7 years from retirement, enjoy my job, earn over 130K, single, no debt but also no house, decent investments/savings, substantial defined benefit pension and full CPP to look forward to. My finances are fairly uncomplicated. Basing projections on conservative estimates, I like what I am seeing for my post-work years. Is there a significant benefit to involving a financial planner and/or advisor? Any stats to back up an assertion that such professionals have a better track record? Thank you.
