New puppy, feeding raw, itchy puppy 🤔

I’m confused why my puppy is itching. An 8 wk old puppy can have a food allergy?

I started my senior on a raw diet this year. It was actually a frustrating transition, he was so itchy! I thought it was him cuz he’s old, then I thought it was yeast die off, then I learned itching went away with no chicken or beef. Ok solved. Understandable, he’s a senior and he was on kibble for almost 15 years.

I get a brand new puppy, puppy takes to raw no problem! She started with rabbit and quail because that’s what my senior dog eats. I bring in beef grind, chicken bones, and canned sardine…one of those is causing itching. I’ll figure it out but it’s leaving me confused and in shock.

8 weeks old and has a food allergy, it’s not supposed to be like this. I ordered an arsenal of adored beast gut products.

BJs needs to get it together!

My friend and I started using BJs raw and we are both having issues with our food arriving room temp or warmer.
They throw one dry ice in a huge box and expect it to make it from PA to TX in 100 degree weather. So we order extra ice. They don’t put the extra ice in that we ordered!
So then they recommend paying for faster shipping.
So you tell me, you cannot get the product to the customer. We have to do all this EXTRA stuff to get it to us the way that it should arrive?
I’m tired of dealing with their customer service, they absolutely do not care. They don’t listen.
If this is happening to us, I’m sure it’s happening to others. They have great food but they are horrible with delivering it.
Anyone have a recommendation for a comparable raw that understands how to get product to customers?

Are raw beef tendons safe?

I recently gave my 30#, 15yr old, pup a raw beef tendon for his first time. He seemed to do ok with it, no issues after, but my friend’s dog who ate one at the same time puked up a large piece 2 days later.

Today I gave my dog one and monitored him closely while he chewed, he swallowed it after only chewing half of it. It was probably 2 inches long and inch wide. (Maybe a little bigger)

I was just wondering about other experiences with these. I’m sitting here rethinking this and I’m not sure it’s something I feel comfortable with. I’m not even sure if I should be worried about what he just swallowed. Normally I wouldn’t be worried but the piece that my friend’s dog threw up was hard as rubber. Is it common for these to cause blockages or are they usually very well digested?

Thuja

Has anyone tried Thuja for TN? I randomly came across the name while looking into a supplement from AdoredBeast apothecary for my dog. Never heard of it, tried to search this sub for the name and nothing came up. I don’t want to get my hopes up but today is a flare up day and I’m vulnerable. Just seeing if anyone has any insight into this stuff. Googling it, it sounds a bit dangerous.

Anyone else raw feeding their Puggle?

Looking for others that feed their Puggle a raw food diet. I was wondering what preferences your Puggle has.

My pup loves goats milk, prefers a lightly boiled egg over a raw one, will not eat the yolk of a duck egg but will eat the whites, will not eat a rabbit foot but wants me to play tug of war with it, and doesn’t like tripe. He eats all types of meat and chews through a chicken neck and sardines but I think he would rather not chew so much, he acts like it’s just so much work lol. He also loves bone broth.

Top teeth extractions

A couple years ago a vet pulled my puggles top front teeth out stating it needed to be done because of his underbite. I was wondering if anyone else had this done by their vet and felt it was unnecessary. I look back and I wish I would have got a second opinion because he wasn’t even having any issues.

What’s up puggle fam! I’m Clark Kent! My mom just spent like 30 minutes tripping out about all these dogs that look just like me! We scrolled through as she showed me all the pictures; we laughed, we cried, I don’t know how many times I heard OMG and Awwwwww. I already knew we are the cutest breed that ever walked this planet, my mom is on cuteness overload right now! All I know is, I’m ready for a treat.

I just got done reading Feeding Dogs by Dr. Brady, now I am reading The Forever Dog Life. These books are truly inspiring. By the time I finished Feeding Dogs I had overcome and started feeding my dog raw meat for dinner. It just went against every grain for me to feed raw but I learned and I did it! My dog is doing great, it’s ok, he’s ok.

Ok, so now I need support/stories/advice to help me past the hurdle. I almost bought my dog a chicken thigh today but I couldn’t do it. I got over the raw fear but now I’m struggling with the little chicken bones. Mentally I’m ready to feed my dog a whole raw chicken after reading the book, but I can’t bring myself to actually do it.

(I don’t think the “opinion” flare fits, more like “advice” but I didn’t see a flare option for that)
