Fortifying Breastmilk

Hi everyone! Feeling a little down. Just came back from my 2.5 month old’s doc appointment and found out she’s a bit underweight. Expressed to the doctor that she gets about average 8 wet/poopy diapers, 15 hours sleep, and about 8-9 nursing feeds (I let her feed til she lets the nipple go). Due to her current weight not meeting expectations, I now have to fortify my breast milk and keep track of her input. Aka pump.

Also, I just started building a small stash in preparation for daycare in 3 days. I have about 4 days stocked but now I have to pump for school and for home. Basically pushing me more towards primary pumping, oppose to nursing.

What I’m getting at:

- Has anyone had this experience of fortifying your milk with supplement?

- How did it go?

- Were you able to go back to providing breastmilk, exclusively (aka no formula mixed in)?

- How long did it take to get to that point? (I know everyone is different, just curious for hope)

- Did taking in calories on your part help make fattier milk? ( my theory of why my milk may not be sufficient enough)

I would love to hear your experience, any advice, encouragement, etc.
