No Place is Perfect
As someone who has been to JobCorps, served in the military, completed university, and now in my dream career I can tell you that ALL of these environments had/have their issues. Unfortunately none of these places and institutions are perfect, why? Because people aren’t perfect. I’ve witnessed deaths, sexual assault, violence, substance abuse, racism, discrimination, fill in the blank, at every SINGLE ONE.
I’m not condoning it, or saying it’s ok. I’m not even saying you should stay in any of these if you are experiencing what I listed. I’m simply acknowledging that there will never be a perfect situation and constantly quitting one in hopes that the next will be perfect is delusional.
I want the young people in this forum to understand that ironing out your path in life will be difficult, whatever you choose. That your support system, faith, work ethic and morals are what get you through these trials. But you WILL have them. They will happen. You can’t let them discourage you and stop you from accomplishing your goals. You got this.
