(Colorado) I have many health conditions and I need to stay on Medicaid. My fiancé and I were thinking about doing a very small ceremony with just our friends and family, but not actually making it official. I understand that Medicaid considers common law marriages to be real marriages, but is there a way to go around this where we can still celebrate with family but not be legally married and not be penalized by Medicaid?

Colorado Medicaid here. Ex husband and I share custody of our two children 50/50. The kids are under my Medicaid. I work, he does not. He likely is on Medicaid by himself. He does not pay child support. In the divorce decree we take places every year with claiming the kids. I am wondering if we are allowed to do that since they’re under my Medicaid. Am I supposed to be claiming them every year?
