Does anyone else get tired of how often romance MMCs are written as serial hookups/manwhores until they meet the FMC? It feels like so many books use ‘slept with half the town but suddenly changes for her’ as the default male character arc. Meanwhile the FMC is usually inexperienced or has had very few partners.

I’m not against characters having a past, but sometimes it feels less romantic when the MMC spends 80% of the book sleeping around or openly objectifying women before magically becoming devoted overnight. I’d love more books with MMCs who are emotionally available, loyal from the start, or just… normal about sex and relationships.

I need recommendations where the MMC isn’t a reformed player….
