[Landlord US-GA] New Motor Upgrade for $200 after paying $425 for Sensor replacement
Original garage motor and all components in 10 year old property.
Tenant stated safety sensor is completely out and calls local garage service company to repair. I receive the invoice few days later and total is $425 to replace the genie sensors ($40 part and 30 mins of labor). Side note, I just paid $145 for the same service at my personal house a few months earlier.
I’m completely shocked and called the repair company for an explanation. After some discussion the manager offers to credit me the full amount towards a new garage motor. So total additional out of pocket would be $200.
Part of me wants nothing to do with this scam company but part of me does like the idea of spending an additional $200 to get a reasonable product price. There’s nothing wrong with the motor, but it is 10 years old at this point. Any thoughts on this?
