Can barely do more than 10 pushups and no pull-ups now

Hey all,

For some context it’s been years (maybe 5-6) since I actively did any workout/sports. I was a couch potato pothead but I used to be able to pump out at least 40-50 pushups and 5 pull-ups with good form before . Now that I stopped smoking I started to gain a lot of weight, I went from the 140 to 175 lbs and I’ve never weighed this much before. My questions are the following; is this from muscle atrophy? Would this much of a weight make that drastic of a difference, or could it be other factors such as hormones? Maybe a combination of everything? Thanks for your input
