The scene I remember is that the fmc is kidnapped by a guy around her age I think he might’ve been her psycho ex and shes taken to a shed or something similar. When he calls the mmc she tells him not to come, but he crashes out and takes his best friend’s truck and the best friend goes with him too but the mmc insists on driving, and speeds to the location.

But because of her warning the mmc’s family friend who I think was cop or detective (off duty) and some other guy go as well in a second car as the look out, they’re parked up hidden and the cop figures out it was a trap for the mmc because the fmc and the kidnapper were sitting in a car and the kidnapper was planning on causing the mmc to crash into them and to trigger the mmc (he has trauma because he lost someone in a car crash or something similar) and the cop speeds off and crashes into the kidnapper at the very last second before the mmc does and saves them. The cop dies, the guy with him has a broken arm I think, and the fmc is taken to the hospital but is fine in the end. They all attend his funeral and I think the cops name was Carl (I could be very wrong).

The mmc and fmc were also younger maybe like around 18-20 ish. Please help me find it!

The fmc was assaulted in the past and she has a scar her ex caused (on her thigh I think). Her dad did not believe her and took her assaulters side.

The scene I remember was her, the mmc, and their friends at a bar and she walked out (I think something happened between her and the mmc). They notice she was gone for a long time and the mmc and his best friend go out looking for her, she's found in an alley with her ex trying to assault her again. They call the police and the mmc and his best friend beat the guy up and when police get there they say he was being violent and they were defending themselves.

And I also know the mmc attacked her dad at the police station because he said she was lying again or something along those lines.

Another scene I remember is the fmc is kidnapped by that ex and he calls the mmc but the fmc tells him not to come get her but the mmc goes to her anyway and he takes his best friends truck but just incase another car goes with them it was a cop and another person. As the mmc was getting there the ex and the fmc were in the car and it was a trap he was going to cause a car crash to trigger the mmc and kill the fmc, but the cop figures it out and he crashes into the ex right before the mmc does and saves them but the cop dies. The other guy in the car with him just had a broken arm and the fmc is taken to the hospital but is completely fine in the end. They also all attend his the cops funeral.

The mmc's name mightve been Sam but I could be totally wrong. Also this was not a dark romance book and I think the MMC was an athlete as well (also could be wrong). Please help me find it!
