Hi, this is my first time posting on here but I'm in a dilemma and I need help making a decision. I've been running track and playing basketball since the 7th grade. Up until recently I and been playing both for fun but now my parents and coaches believe if I just put in the work I could get an offer in track. I started running AAU last summer and my pr in the 400 was a 58.75 (I am a girl btw). My junior year was supposed to be my break out year but I ended up pulling my hamstring and had to sit out for 3 weeks. I still made it to area tho which is pretty good considering I was coming off of injury. Both of my parents think I should quit basketball and just focus on track but I really enjoy playing basketball and I don't want to regret quitting my senior year. I've been playing varsity basketball since sophomore year and I don't want to flush all that hard work I put into it just to not play my senior year. Plus in order for me to get an offer I would have to drop at least 3 seconds from my 400m and I don't know if it would be possible.
I just don't want to be regretful and quit basketball just for track not to work out.
TLDR: My parents want me to quit basketball and focus solely on track but I don't want to flush all my hard work down the drain.
Please give me advice I don't know what to do 🙏🏾
