I am female 33.
I’ve had sleep issues since I was a kid, and at times they’ve been really bad, especially starting in middle school.
It seems like a lot of it is psychological, so I started therapy, and that has already helped a little.
Recently, I noticed that my sleep gets much worse about a week before my period. I also get some anxiety and a racing heart. Last night I only slept around 3–4 hours, and my heart rate stayed around 90–100 while I was lying in bed.
Once my period starts, it sometimes gets better again.
What confuses me is that I don’t really have any other cycle-related issues. My period is regular, and I usually don’t get cramps or anything else, maybe once or twice a year at most.
I’ve heard a lot about Ray Peat, and I’m already doing some of the things he recommends. Now I’ve also been hearing about Progest-E, but I’m really scared to try it because it’s a hormone supplement, and some say it is not safe to take something like that, and you should always do it with a doctor.
Has anyone here had a similar experience, especially with sleep getting worse before their period but without other PMS symptoms? Did Progest-E help or make things worse?
One more thing: I usually have cold hands and feet throughout the year.
