I’ve been obsessed with Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon for years so I built the actual game. Beta testers wanted

Hey all!

I’ve been obsessed with the Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon concept for years and got frustrated that nobody had built a proper game around it. So I built one myself.

The concept is simple — you’re given two actors and you have to connect them through their shared movies in as few steps as possible. For example: connect Meryl Streep to Tom Hanks. They were both in The Post — done in one. Easy. Now try connecting Humphrey Bogart to Will Smith. Suddenly it’s a puzzle.

What’s in the app:
The database covers 800 actors spanning eight decades of Hollywood — from classic era legends to modern stars. Every day there’s a new challenge with a shareable result card (think Wordle but for movie nerds). Beyond the daily challenge there are 10+ game modes including a Beat the Clock mode, a Gauntlet where you chain connections back to back, and a Custom mode where you can challenge friends with any two actors you choose. There are also 250 trivia questions across five categories for when you want a different kind of film challenge.

Difficulty scales too — Easy mode keeps you in well-known blockbuster territory, Hard mode sends you into the deep cuts where two actors might share one obscure 1974 film that nobody saw.

Why I’m posting:
Before I submit to the App Store I want real people who actually care about movies to try it and tell me where it breaks, what’s confusing, and whether the difficulty balance feels right. I’m not looking for praise — I genuinely want to find the problems before strangers do.

If you’re the kind of person who has strong opinions about film and enjoys a puzzle, you’re exactly who I built this for.

To try it:
Drop a comment or DM me and I’ll send you a link. Testing currently runs through the free Expo Go app — download it from the App Store or Google Play, tap the link I send you, and the game loads instantly. No account needed, no hoops to jump through. Takes about 30 seconds to get in. Works on both iOS and Android.

TestFlight is coming for a cleaner native experience — just not quite ready yet. If you’d rather wait for that drop a comment and I’ll reach out when it’s live.

A few things I’m specifically hoping testers will evaluate:
• Does the difficulty feel balanced across Easy, Medium, and Hard?
• Are there any actor connections that feel impossible or unfair?
• Is the daily challenge format compelling enough to come back to daily?
• Does anything feel confusing on first launch without explanation?

Appreciate anyone willing to spend time on this. Happy to answer questions about the game in the comments.
