Beginner Embroidery and A Lot of Lessons Learned

Hey everyone! Just wanted to share my design that I did on the back of a Tshirt. It is not perfect by any means, but the journey to get this thing done was CRAZY. Learned a ton about fabric, tension, thread, speed, and needs to get this done with only 2-3 breaks.

Dealing with a ton a lot of 1mm-2mm satin stitches was causing chaos. It really taught me a lot about embroidery.

There are some jump stiches and a bit of puckering, but for anything else let me know what I could do to fix!

Thanks!

Hey everyone! I bought my Brother NQ3550w (refurbished) a few weeks back. With my projects I have been learning a lot and tension seems to be the biggest issue I am having. I was able to learn about upper thread tension, but now I am diving into lower thread tension. To solve my issues.

I noticed that the bobbin tension is WAY too loose. So I went to watch a few videos on how to adjust. The screw on the side of the casing is the key to tightening and loosening.

When I went to look at my casing, over the screw that needs to be adjusted there is this green looking glue that is over the screw (in the image attached). Anyone have any idea why this is there? Any insight will help! Thanks!

Hey everyone! I am relatively new to embroidery and have been learning for the past two weeks. I have made this design that is an about 30k stitches with a lot of satin lines. Through the process I was using 40wt thread and it kept breaking (specifically Floriani polyester). I recently just bought a 60wt polyester thread thinking that the thread was maybe too thick. I just tried using it and then the thread kept repeatedly breaking again. Although this time I have noticed that the upper thread usually does this when breaking(seen below).

Anyone have any idea why this is happening and can give some insight on what I am doing wrong.

More specifications:

Machine: Brother NQ3550

Needle: 80/12

Update: Thank you everyone for the help! It really opened my eyes about tension and how to get lint out of the bobbin case! After doing the satin stitch test, with the fabric I was using I should be using a tension of about 1. Before I was using a tension of about 3 😅. You learn something new every day. Thank you again!
