Hi all, first time posting on this sub, but my boyfriend and I just moved into a new apartment and have been hearing weird vibrating drone noises from our A/C when we turn it on. There is also what sounds like a metallic clinking sound too. It gets 10x worse at night even when we do not have our A/C running.
Here are some videos of the sound for reference. The blackout video is the sound at night and we do not have our A/C running in that video. The second part with the double doors is when our A/C is on and the A/C / furnace is behind those double doors. It literally sounds like we are running the wash but it’s our A/C. We already put a maintenance request in and they said our A/C is running normal. We cannot sleep at all with this noise and have had to find another place to sleep.
This is what the property manager replied with when I told her it’s still running loudly after maintenance supposedly checked our unit:
“Hi ______,
Maintenance was in your unit yesterday and noticed that there is not much furniture inside your unit. This could be adding to the issue you anre experiencing. Everything is working normal on your AC. They are planning on entering the units below you to check their AC units as well today. We needed to give a 12 hour notice.

Is having less furniture really making this noise? Or is there actually something wrong with our A/C / other unit’s A/C?
