Hi all! I know we're nearing decision time for this cycle, wishing the very best to each of you, I know you've all worked incredibly hard and are fantastic applicants!!!!
I'm about to graduate my 1 year course based masters and am looking to apply this cycle; I feel a bit off pace since I only applied during my 3rd year and decided not to apply during 4th year + for this cycle because of some personal circumstances, which contributed to my choice to do a MSc instead! Hate to be making a generic "chance me" post but would love to hear any advice/insights!!!
Edit to add im mostly wondering if an MCAT retake is warranted/would be helpful :/
-3.9 cGPA, 510 MCAT (128 CARS)
-Volunteered in patient-facing and more general roles at hospitals
-Involved in undergrad in student societies as well as hobbies/general interest clubs w/ leadership positions (heavy medical humanities/arts niche)
-TAed for a semester, worked in a clinic @ Princess Margaret summer after first yr, In university faculty during summer after 3rd year
-1 club/EC based award and a couple academic ones
-Not too much research did project courses 2nd/3rd year + 4th year thesis
-Completing MSc at US ivy league school (dunno if that matters much LOL)
-Tight knit MSc cohort so will likely be able to get strong LORs
-Final capstone + coursework pieces => aiming to develop into pieces fit to be submitted to journals over the course of the summer w/ mentorship from PI/instructors
