I am a 38 year old female. Yesterday I had to make a trip to the ER because I experienced extreme cramping/pain for about two hours that eventually subsided into a dull soreness in the lower abdomen, specifically on the lower right abdomen and the middle. It has now almost resolved. I had no other symptoms. While in the ER, they performed a CT scan with contrast. The CT scan did not show anything other than a large uterine fibroid (which I already knew about. I have multiple uterine fibroids), a lot of stool, and a caliber change or stricture in the sigmoid colon. I asked if they could see what the stricture is caused by and was told they cannot see. I asked if there is a tumor, and they said they cannot tell. I think this is odd since a CT scan is a diagnostic tool for colorectal cancer and thought they would be able to see whether the narrowing/stricture is caused by a tumor. I am now terrified I have colorectal cancer. What are the chances that this is caused by cancer or something else?
