Electrician was installing EV charging with a hubbel 14-50 outlet I had bought on my own. He said the outlet was bigger than a typical wall plate he usually installs so he had to cut open a bigger hole.

Is this install acceptable or should I buy a fitting wall plate? What kind do I need to buy if so?
