first time running without stopping

Hi! I'm a beginner runner and this is the first time I was able to run 1.6 miles without stopping! Is this a good pace? How can I cut down time in a month?

I had to walk the last .4 miles 'cause i was experiencing side stitches. My right side was cramping, they said it's a side stitch. I ran last Thursday and have only been walking for the past days to recover, however i still get the side stitch.

Any tips on how to prevent this or stop this from happening? I wanna run again but i'm worried i'd experience side stitch and ruin my run again.
