Need some advice choosing between these 5 strings
I was originally planning to get a Yamaha TRBX505 or 605 because I've seen a lot of good things about them but both are out of stock here right now and I don’t know how long the wait will be.
Current options I can actually buy brand new:
- Spector Legend 5 Classic - $780 (Made in Korea)
- Ibanez SR605 (older model with Bartolini MK1 pickups) - $880 (Made in Indonesia)
The Spector is the one I’m most attracted to sound-wise. it sounds sounds huge and punchy. My only concern is whether it’ll feel uncomfortable with smaller hands
The SR605 seems more comfortable and versatile, but I’ve seen a lot of mixed opinions about the older Bartolini MK1 pickups. Some people say they’re smooth and modern, others say they sound too soft or get lost in a band mix. Also not sure if $880 is a bit overpriced even though it’s brand new.
I’m also wondering if I should just wait for TRBX505/605 to restock because I honestly haven’t seen many bad reviews about the TRBX series.
Would appreciate opinions from people who’ve spent real time with these basses.
