How ultra zoom smartphone cameras could become a privacy concern?. Should smartphone companies build every capability they can, just because they technically can?

Phone cameras were about capturing memories. Today, some smartphones can zoom so far that you can read signs from buildings away, peek into apartments across the street, or observe people without them ever knowing.
That raises a question.
Do we actually need this level of zoom in our pockets?

In real city life especially in places filled with high-rises and apartments facing each other ultra zoom starts feeling less like a camera feature and more like accidental surveillance tech..

Imagine standing in your balcony and realizing someone across three buildings could zoom into your room clearly enough to see what you’re doing. Curtains become the new privacy settings....

The weird part is that Most people never asked for this, but brands entered a “who can zoom farther” competition.

Binoculars are obvious. A smartphone is invisible. Everyone already carries one. That changes the social dynamic completely. You never know when you’re being observed versus simply photographed.
