We Gave an AI Agent a Conscious and Subconscious Mind
We tried to give an AI agent a memory.
First attempt had a name. Kairos.
It stored things. Retrieved things. Looked like memory from the outside.
It wasn't.
Every session it read its own notes like a stranger reading someone else's diary.
Kairos was a filing cabinet pretending to be a mind.
So I'm building two layers instead.
Conscious. What the agent is working with right now. Open orders. Active decisions.
Subconscious. What mattered before but shouldn't crowd the room. A customer who buys every Friday. A payment dispute from three weeks ago. It waits. Surfaces when relevant.
Not memory as storage. Memory as lifecycle.
144 hours into this. Still going.
DukaFlow placed 2nd at the M-Pesa x GoMyCode Hackathon. WhatsApp-native commerce for small businesses in East Africa. This is what I'm building on top of that win.
Every agent I built before this was lying to me.
This one won't.
