Career guidance

Hi everyone,

I’m really confused between two offers as a fresher and would genuinely appreciate opinions from people already working in these fields.

Offer 1:

\- Procurement Executive at Renee Cosmetics

\- ₹35k in hand

\- Supply chain/procurement role

\- Alternate Saturdays working

Offer 2:

\- Data Analyst at Shaip by Ubiquity

\- ₹45k in hand

\- Mainly Power BI dashboard/reporting work

\- All Saturdays off

A little background:

\- I have financial responsibilities, so salary growth matters a lot to me.

\- I come from a biotech/pharma background and recently shifted toward analytics.

\- I’m not aiming for hardcore coding/software engineering roles.

\- Long-term stability, growth, and future switch opportunities, work life balance matter more to me than just the current salary.

My concerns:

\- Data analyst roles seem crowded and I’m worried dashboard-only work may limit future growth.

\- Supply chain feels more stable/business-oriented, but growth initially seems slower and opportunities in Ahmedabad seem limited unless I relocate later.

People working in either field:

\- Which path would you choose in 2026 considering AI/automation, layoffs, and future market trends?

\- Which career has better salary growth in the next 5–7 years?

\- Is procurement/supply chain actually safer long-term than analytics?

\- Can a data analyst realistically grow well without becoming a hardcore coder?

Would really appreciate honest advice from experienced people instead of LinkedIn-style “both are great” answers 😭
