Colon polyp , please help😖
Hi everyone ☺️
Im 34 F and at the start of January this year I went to my GP because I was feeling pressure in my pelvic region. After a clear internal pelvic ultrasound, my GP ordered bloods, QFIT and calprotectin.
I've had blood in my stool (visable in small amounts for years) but was told years ago it was an anal fissure.
Anyway, Calprotectin and bloods came back normal but QFIT was >400 which triggered redflag pathway.
1 week later I had a colonoscopy where a 2.5cm (25mm) polyp on a stalk was found in my sigmoid colon.
I saw it on the screen and it looked like an angry red cauliflower with mucus covering parts of it (sorry for TMI).
I have an EMR in 3 weeks to remove it but I am absolutely terrified that it's cancer. I wasn't given much of an idea or reassurance with the colonoscopy nurse who performed the proceedure just saying " it looks like a polyp but can't be sure', which i know is true, but I really can't fight off the anxiety I'm feeling. I'm a single mother to an 8 year old son with no family, but luckily great friends.
I suppose I'm just looking for others experience with this size of polyp, good and bad , if anyone would feel comfortable enough to share.
Thank you, I wish you all health and happiness xx
