Im confused about my daily finger stick checks and HBA1C mismatch.

I cant say im managing my diabetes well. I dont know if I have type 1 or type 2 for sure. But because I got diagnosed at 25 and I was not overweight the doctors said its most probably type 1. I live in a country where there is no laboratory that can do the test and confirm the type. Now to get to my point, I have not been managing it well but it has been manageable and even though I wasn't careful it has not been that bad. But usually after a heavy carb meal its over 200 mg/dl(protien is expensive here, we can only afford carbs). The thing is when I do the fingerstick measures, fasting is below 100 usually and after a meal if I ate a lot its usually over 200 mg/dl. But when I do hba1c tests, for two months in a row its surprisingly good. 3 months ago it was 5.7 and now it is 4.9. I feel like something is off and I might be seeing inaccuracies. What is your thought. Should I go to an endocrinologist and get it checked thoroughly or should I just improve on my managment?
