Not sure how forgotten this song is, but I forgot about it for a while and I don’t see it discussed much. This song is surprisingly cinematic and emotional. Crankdat (I assume) delivers some really nice vocals.
My friend and I were just listening to this song together yesterday. Definitely still a banger. The drum and bass drop goes especially hard.
The thing that has always stuck out to me most about this song is the chord progression and the way that the melody accentuates it. It feels mischievous and jazzy at the same time. I was really into this song for a couple years after it came out but have forgotten about it more recently. I don’t really see it discussed in the community either.
This song came up on my playlist yesterday and now I have it stuck in my head. This remix packs a lot in during its 3:22 runtime. No part feels repetitive. The two drops are completely different (and are even in different keys) and each portion of the song pushes it forward to the next section. The production is also insanely clean and snappy. I’ve now revived both of Kotek’s only two Monstercat appearances. I hope he appears again on the label.
We’re going way back to the first year of Monstercat with this one. Something about the main melody in this song hits me in a way that gives me chills. It’s dreamy and nostalgic and almost feels a bit unreal in a pleasant and whimsical way. Definitely one of my favorites from Eminence.
I was just reminded of this song yesterday. Something about this song that I haven’t really seen discussed before is its atmosphere. You can especially hear this in the midsection before the vocals come back in, where the atmosphere feels like floating through some sort of vast, dark underwater abyss or something—or maybe floating through space, I don’t know. This song balances deep atmosphere, vocals from Miss Trouble, and heavy yet minimal drops really well.
A part of Varien’s 2015 “The Ancient and Arcane” LP, Snowlight is a peaceful and ethereal trap song with some mysterious and darker parts. I’ve known and liked this song for a long time.
Time goes by fast. This song is already over 3 years old, which is the minimum age I require a song to be for me to revive it. I personally had kinda forgotten about this song, but it’s really cool. The dark atmosphere and minimalism is intriguing, with very clean production to back it up. I hope we get more Snavs on Monstercat some time.
This is likely my favorite Half an Orange song, maybe tied with Buzz Lightyear. Something about this song and its lyrics is extremely bittersweet and wholesome feeling. It feels like longing for something comforting and being comforted by the fantasy of it. This song works wonderfully as an ending for HAO’s Mostly We Grow Trilogy LP, especially with Michael repeating the “mostly we grow” line at the end.
While the mixing / mastering certainly leaves some to be desired, if you can look past it, this song is actually really beautifully composed. The piano is uplifting and dreamy, as is that main synth lead melody that sounds almost like a plain sine wave. I’ve loved this song for a long time. You can definitely tell it’s from 2011, but I don’t see that as inherently bad.
I hope Glaue returns at some point. This song has a very intimate and innocent feeling to it. It’s not deep or particularly atmospheric. It’s just warm, wholesome, and comforting—and I love it for that.
I always forget how incredible this song is. Pixel Terror’s sophomore release on the label, Machina is a dark and mysterious yet euphoric and grand song. The first drop, while not very heavy, is minimal and dark. The second drop lets all of its emotion loose in classic Pixel Terror style.
This is a nice uplifting trap song from Kill Paris’s Galaxies Within Us LP. The vocals are nice, as is the song as a whole.
Although I’m sure this song is still remembered fondly by Grant fans, it has well under 1 million views on YouTube and is an amazing song, so I’m reviving it. This song has a lot of emotion in it and the drops feel huge and euphoric.
I’ve always loved this remix. When the package came out in 2017, this was my favorite, and it might still be. The chords in the drops are so big and full. I always felt like this remix was overlooked and underrated.
This Silk song from soon after the Silk acquisition makes nice use of a mijor tonality. The piano is also really nice. Definitely an overlooked gem.
I think this might be the song that has the most consistent rate of making me cry of any Monstercat song. It’s not even that the lyrics are all that emotional for me—the song is just unbelievably beautiful and tear jerking. This is one of my favorite songs by my favorite artist. I don’t know how forgotten or underrated this really is, but it has well under 1 million views on YouTube so I’m reviving it.

This song has really beautiful vocals from an uncredited vocalist. I can never resist singing along to them when I hear this song. I listened to this song a lot several years ago but I’ve kind of forgotten it more recently. I gotta listen to it more.
This song really grew on me over the years. CoMa’s vocals are beautiful and Haywyre’s composition and production is really cool. Two Fold Part 1 is probably my favorite album of all time.
This is the beautiful closing song for TTC’s Come To The End; Then Stop LP. The electric piano chords are very nice, as are Augustus’s vocals as usual.
