Google Assistant works perfectly in the UK/Europe but completely stops understanding me in the UAE?
I genuinely feel like I am going insane with this.
When I am back home in the UK, I can say things like: “Hey Google, set an alarm for 7am” “Remind me tomorrow to call someone” “Navigate home” etc, and it works first time, every time.
The SECOND I am back in the UAE, Google Assistant/Voice Match suddenly acts like I am speaking another language. It barely understands simple English commands, gets completely wrong words, or just does nothing.
Same phone. Same voice. Same accent. Same Google account.
It is honestly like the voice recognition quality drops massively only in the UAE. Then when I leave the UAE again it magically works properly.
Has anyone else experienced this? Is Google routing voice processing differently by region or something? I am wondering if UAE localisation/server routing is causing it.
I have already tried:
- Retraining Voice Match
- English UK language only
- Clearing cache
- Different WiFi/mobile networks
Still terrible in the UAE but flawless elsewhere.
