Valid Visa with Name change
Fellow Redditors - Please help!
I am an Indian citizen holding a valid U.S. B1/B2 visa, which is valid until 2034.
I am scheduled to travel to the United States in November 2026 to attend a conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.
My previous Indian passport has expired and contains my valid U.S. B1/B2 visa. I have since obtained a new Indian passport, on which my name has been updated to align with my other Indian government-issued identity documents.
I would like to clarify whether I can travel to the United States using:
My new valid Indian passport bearing my updated name and my old expired Indian passport containing my valid B1/B2 visa issued under the old name.
Name change is basically a major spelling update.
Alternatively, do I need to apply for a new U.S. visa reflecting the name on my current passport before travelling? Time is the problem.
