M/F contemporary where MMC works on his mental health which improves the relationship
I was inspired by this post to search for more of this microtrope which I’m fairly obsessed with. I’m looking for MF contemporary pairing and that the conflict is, in part, due to the MMC needing to get his mental health act together. I’ve loved this in several books. I know there’s several requests for MF contemporary and mental health rep but that is not what I’m looking for. I’m looking specifically for how his messy mental health impacts the relationship and how they don’t improve until he gets help/improves himself.
{The wild one by Daisy Jane} he is struggling with grief and is kind of a dick the first time they met. He works on it through the book.
{What we need by Lizzie Stanley} Dean struggles with PTSD and uses sex as an escape to reality. He even >!goes to in patient therapy!!<
{Ever After Always by Chloe Liese} where Aiden’s anxiety nearly ruins their relationship.
A lighthearted version in {So not meant to be by Meghan Quinn} JP hilariously tries to get drunk on root beers because he accepts alcohol isn’t serving him anymore.
And of course, Ilya in {The Long game by Rachel Reid}
