I’m looking for information about a trumpet I own and would love to learn more about its origin, value, and specifications.
It’s a Conn Constellation 38B, made in Elkhart, with serial number M27921.
There is also a “B” marking on the receiver (where the mouthpiece connects), and I’m not sure what it refers to (bore size or something else?).
I understand this model is quite well regarded, but I’d appreciate help with:
Approximate year of manufacture
Current market value (real examples would be great)
Differences between the 38B and other Constellation models
Meaning of the “B” marking
Any interesting historical or technical details
I also came across references to a musician named Víctor Guzmán Zamudio, who apparently played a similar Conn (I believe he passed away in 2015). Any info about that would also be appreciated.
