What advantages could I realistically get from holding 4 citizenships — Canada, US, Mexico, and El Salvador?
I’m curious what practical opportunities I should be thinking about with my citizenship situation.
I currently hold/am documenting citizenship in:
🇨🇦 Canada
🇺🇸 United States
🇲🇽 Mexico
🇸🇻 El Salvador
What I’m interested in is what doors this combination can realistically open beyond simply being able to live and work in four countries.
For example:
● Career or business opportunities
● Banking/credit and investing
● Real estate/property ownership
● Education
● Tax planning
● Starting companies in different countries
● Benefits of being a citizen of all three CUSMA/USMCA countries
● Travel advantages
● Opportunities that most people wouldn’t immediately think about
● Things I should establish while I’m young to make the most of these citizenships
I’m aware that US citizenship also comes with worldwide tax/reporting obligations, so I’m not assuming that having multiple citizenships is purely advantageous.
For anyone who has multiple citizenships, works in immigration/international tax, or has lived between these countries: how would you actually take advantage of this situation?
Are there any particularly valuable opportunities that having 🇨🇦🇺🇸🇲🇽🇸🇻 citizenship gives me that would otherwise be difficult or impossible to access?
