Hidden Internship Statistics of ISI Delhi for M.stat
I have given the M.Stat entrance exam and am expecting an interview call. At the same time, I also have an offer to join IIT Madras for a PhD related to Quantum Reinforcement Learning / applications of Queueing Theory in Quantum Computation.
Right now, I want to optimize for financial stability first. Because of that, I am seriously considering doing M.Stat at ISI Delhi, getting a job after that, working for a few years, and only then deciding about a PhD.
However, I am unable to find clear information regarding internships and placements specifically for M.Stat students at ISI Delhi. Due to some situations back at home, internships and financial stability during the program matter a lot to me.
So I wanted to ask people who are currently studying there / recently graduated:
- Do M.Stat students at ISI Delhi generally get fair access to internships and opportunities?
- Or is it more like only the absolute top few students manage to get internships, while the average student struggles?
- How different is the internship/placement scenario for M.Stat compared to MSQE at ISI Delhi?
I would really appreciate honest ground reality rather than brochure-level answers.
