a religious themed book in a series for middle aged children about Roman boys who must learn about the importance of brotherhood. there's a part where they are swimming and one of them starts to drown, before the other one saved him, which was kind of a pivotal point in the story. I think it's set in rome, and I swear the cover was blue. I found it in a thrift store many years ago, and it was misplaced in a move. I cannot for the life of me find anything in search results online.
