Hi guys I'm so stressed out and I need some advice. I am currently enrolled in psych but I feel as though this wasn't my calling at all. I'm worried about making it into masters, I'm not even sure I can work that well with people struggling with mental illnesses, so I am thinking of transferring.
My options were accounting mostly, but my parents think actuary studies are better (I am aware that USYD doesn't offer it) but I just need advice. In year 12, I loved financial maths whilst studying Advanced Maths but I didn't enjoy at all the Maths Extension 1 at all, which is assumed knowledge for actuary.
I think something around finance/accounting would be good because I do really enjoy maths. I think the job would be good for me because I think I will be mainly working for people with their financial issues rather than their mental illnesses.
My main worry is the money; is there that much of a difference between the two? Is it that much that I should transfer?
For accounting, is a masters required? Is it like psych where you must have it to basically work? Is it very hard to get into masters? Also what course did you actually chose for accounting, bachelor of commerece?
If there is anyone who has studied accounting or actuary, what are your thoughts? Thank you so much, my rant is done.
