Indian ATC aspirant 21M Is AAI JE ATC worth it in 2026? Reality check needed
Hey everyone, I'm a 21 year old from Maharashtra, India. I have a BSc CSIT degree but I want to get into Air Traffic Control via AAI (Airports Authority of India) not IT.
My situation:
- 10+2 Science from Maharashtra board but without Physics
- Planning to clear Physics via NIOS October 2026 exam
- BSc CSIT completed
My questions for anyone familiar with AAI or Indian aviation:
How frequently does AAI recruit for Junior Executive ATC? Is it regular or very sporadic?
How competitive is the exam what's a realistic selection ratio?
Is NIOS Physics accepted by DGCA and AAI as equivalent to regular board Physics?
Any Indian ATCs or aspirants here who can share ground reality of the job posting locations, work culture, growth?
Is 2026 a good time to enter this field or is there uncertainty?
