I have question regarding revalidation if ECFMG expires. Mine is active till 2028 December. What Happens after that? I took pathway 3 as most people do. Will I have to pursue another pathway like 1 or 6 which needs certain practice skills validated in order to be recertified? I am confused. I know about retaking OET.
Hello people. Visa-requiring IMG here. I would like to get some insight regarding FM career in US. YOG 2025 passed 2 steps, currently trying to secure observerships but most likely my application won't be ready for this match cycle so preparing for the future. Currently am working as a PA in home country with a physician with double board certificate in Peds/FM. My initial goal was to match into peds and then subspecialize but considering how things are in peds(compensation problem mostly) and my anxiety that I might make an error in residency and for that hurt kids life scares me a bit. I don't know if it's normal feeling but yeah I am kind of that guy who wants to double-check everything cuz we are dealing with someones life, specially kids. So I also thought about FM but am unfamiliar with career paths. THE ONLY Con I am seeing with FM is doing documentations, constantly checking stuff in emr to document well for legal purposes. Would be grateful for feedback
Non-US IMG here. As far as I know FM and Peds have sports medicine fellowships. I wonder what's the situation in there. Is it competitive? What are the job outlooks?
