Background check/polygraph test

Hello! I am moving along in the hiring process of a department on the east coast. I filled out my polygraph packet asserting that I have never been arrested because I had believed the arrest was expunged and there was no record of it. I also answered a few more questions untruthfully on the polygraph packet (the last time I smoked weed, drank alcohol, etc.) I completed my background check with the FBI and I was reading the results it turns out I have an underage drinking charge from 2015. Will this automatically disqualify me from employment with this department? It’s not a dui or anything just a party getting busted in high school. What should I say when they bring this up to me? Also, how should I go about answering other questions on the polygraph that I may have not filled out truthfully in my packet? Any advice or help would be greatly appreciated

Big Pine Lakes

Hey guys! I’m trying to go camping in Big Pine Lakes during the week in early August. The sites are all first come first serve and don’t take reservations. I live five hours away so it’s kind of a gamble on my end. Do we think the chances I find a spot are good? If all the campsites are taken does anyone know of any other campsites in the area? Thank you

Weighing places you want to work/places that will hire you

I (29m) have been seriously trying to be a firefighter for about three years now. I have my NREMT and registered here in San Diego County as well as my NIMS 700 and 800, ICS 100 and 200 and a lot more certs bottom line is I have all of my required certs for most departments and have applied to a bunch around the country.

I have had interviews with San Diego fire department, Orange County, departments in Washington, but have not been able to move past the first interview which is making me feel desperate.

I recently took the NTN and did pretty well so I have been getting contacted by departments I sent my scores to. Not all of them are in exactly highly desirable locations but at this point my thinking is to take any job I get offered because realistically I’m not sure if I will get an opportunity at any other departments. I have a buddy in Aspen who recommended I apply for the Aspen firefighter volunteer position which I did. I’m just having a tough time swallowing the pill of accepting an unpaid position and being pretty much 30 years old with no income from a job that I want to make my career.

I guess I’m just looking for advice from anyone here. Should I accept a volunteer position in order to try and get my foot in the door with a department that I would gladly work for in a place that seems amazing to live and work with the knowledge that I won’t be getting paid for a while? should I wait around and keep applying to my dream departments and hope I get hired there? Should I just take the first department that offers me a job regardless of where it is or how I would feel about living there? I’m almost 30 and the clock is ticking for me to start my career.

Should I retake the Fireteam Test?

Just looking for some opinions here. Definitely a big improvement on my last test but will the mechanical score being so low cost me job opportunities?? Any advice would help. Sorry for posting in here so much just trying to get a sense of what disqualifies candidates from departments

Advice for fire team test?

I am taking the fireteam test tomorrow for the second time. First time I absolutely bombed the human relations as well as the mechanical. I have taken multiple fireteam practice tests since then and feel a lot more confident. I was wondering if anyone on here has any advice for dealing with the human relations section where you talk about working with firefighters you’ve seen in the video. Are strong opinions good?? Do I want to answer I strongly don’t want to or do want to work with each person or should I stay in the middle part? I’m 29 years old I have my NREMT and all other certs I want this career more than anything in the world just looking for some advice. Thank you
