The opportunity to cover what is happening in our world objectively cannot be lost...
Here is what the NYT just published. I want to share something and I really want to make it clear I am not coming from a place of attacking the women who made the statements today. I truly am not. I want to actually just highlight something else that is about to happen as a result of what happened today. We are already living in a state of integrity erosion. Journalism itself is under threat. It is being replaced by sensational storytelling in legacy media. Across social media - true objective journalism is too diffuse. We are oversaturated with content. We have so many opinion based content creators who are mixed within the journalism category. Then with the nature of social media itself - platforms being algorithmic and cesspools of mis and disinformation- we have to be really careful with the few pathways we have left for objective news coverage. What happened today WILL be used to rewrite the laws. It is a bigger issue than how it impacts Luigi and those in Luigi community. It is not only about optics. What happened today is going to further inhibit objective fact based coverage from getting out to the masses. We cannot take journalism for granted. Media is the MOST powerful tool when it comes to public control. It is being used against us. We cannot let indie objective reporters be pushed out or be silenced. I am just saying that in general because this will be used to do just that. https://www.nytimes.com/2026/05/18/nyregion/mangione-supporters-press.html
