Asvab/Picat test tips

**ARMY**
Taking the PICAT Tuesday. I did the DDRPT test a couple weeks ago prior to even studying. I got a 48 on the DDRPT. My recruiter told me that most people score a little better on the PICAT/ASVAB, is that true ??

Any tips on the PICAT ?

Thanks in advance!

Medical Waivers: ADHD (Army)

(Repost. Other post was taken down)

I will probably need a waiver for ADHD meds. Tried them for about 2 weeks and stopped due to no effect. It is the only time I’ve ever had ADHD medication prescribed. It has been about a month since it was prescribed.

I talked to my recruiter about trying to get shipped out at the end of October(due to job related stuff). I wanted a couple weeks to study for the ASVAB and give some time off the medication.

Should I wait to start the process or go ahead and call him and let him know I’m ready to start the process so that I can get all the paperwork needed (SSN, IDs, Marriage documents etc)??

Thanks in advance!

I’m 30 years old with 2 kids thinking about joining the Army. Currently have been LE for almost 9 years. Im thinking about enlisting in the reserves or possibly active duty. My agency will keep me employed. This is something I’ve always wanted to do but life happens.

Is 30 too old ? I’m in pretty good shape and exercise regularly.

Anyone with a family and around my age that enlisted ? If so what was your experience?

Within the past month I was prescribed ADHD meds but they didn’t help much. I took the medication for 2.5 weeks. Have an appointment with my doctor tomorrow to try and get a clearance letter from him. I was told 3 months without meds, doctors clearance letter and a waiver would likely be okay, is that true ?

Thanks in advance
