Lesson is 'boring'.
Maybe I'm overthinking it. Just finished my first year teaching. English. Thought my lessons were moderately interesting. We're doing a film unit. Watched most of the film, took notes, then started working on the analytical side - practicing writing proper analytical sentences.
A student, who's usually quite good, was doing very little work. I prompted her. "But this is sooo boring!" she said. The only thing I could think to say was 'Is maths exciting?' And now I'm wrestling with: should I be making lessons more interesting? Or is it not my problem that kids have absolutely zero attention span and need to be constantly entertained? Where do you draw the line?
