We run managed transportation for several clients, and carrier selection is often where things get complicated.
On our side, we aim to control carrier decisions so we can optimize for cost and performance across the network. At the same time, some clients want to bring in their own rates or preferred partners, which creates a split in responsibility and decision-making.
That’s where things tend to get messy, when performance expectations are shared, but control over carriers isn’t fully aligned.
